The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy, with the support of Luxembourg Cooperation, invites university students from national architecture schools to participate in the competition to create a stand that will be produced and exhibited during the International Energy Conference (CIE), to be held on October 2 and 3, 2025, in Praia.

The challenge? Reinventing the way a stand is designed in Cape Verde, exploring new assembly approaches using locally available materials, minimizing the use of resources, and communicating, through the space, the values of efficiency and innovation.
 

Objectives

Develop a functional and creative stand proposal that:

• Reflect the identity and objectives of the CIE;

• Capable of integrating the exhibitor’s visual identity without using paper or plastic;

• Reduce the use of materials and resources in your production and assembly;

• Can be easily assembled and disassembled with minimal waste;

• Use existing furniture at TechPark.

Who can participate

• The competition is open to: (a) Architecture students (individual or in groups), from educational institutions in Cape Verde; (b) Students from educational institutions in Cape Verde, graduated in the last three years.

Application

• Interested parties must apply using the button below by 11:59 PM on August 31, 2025, and submit up to two (2) A1 digital boards containing a 3D visualization of the project drawn by hand or computer, construction details with annotated scale and dimensions, the list of materials, and the construction and disposal/reuse methodology. Please do not include identifying information on the boards, as the competition will be judged anonymously.

 

Award

• Production and official installation of the winning stand at CIE 2025.

• Exhibition at one of the most important events on energy efficiency and innovation in Cape Verde.

• Broad visibility among a national and international audience, with dissemination through communication
  conference official.

• Prize money worth thirty thousand Cape Verdean escudos (30,000 CVE) .
