ACCRA, GHANA
Hubert Zan is Manager and Assistant in charge of supervising Energy Efficiency Regulation, a division of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Directorate (REEE) of the Ghana Energy Commission. He has been working efficiently and effectively for over a decade in implementing national energy and environmental efficiency regulations aligned with international standards.
He holds two master's degrees in Energy and Sustainable Management, as well as Strategic Management and Leadership. Hubert's desire to see a world, especially Africa, free of obsolete and inefficient appliances has made him a dedicated advocate for energy efficiency and demand management. He leads the enforcement of energy efficiency regulations in Ghana and is the contact person for the ECOFRIDGES GO project at the Energy Commission, which introduces an innovative financial mechanism to help wage earners purchase highly energy-efficient appliances, as well as being a member of the Cool Coalition working group on imports of used products to Africa.
He has also participated in other international forums, such as the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Vienna Energy Forum (VEF). He is motivated to share the stage as a speaker during the CIE conference.
