Henrique Évora is an Electrical Engineer and professor at the Technical University of the Atlantic (UTA), with over 20 years of experience in higher education in Cape Verde, beginning his career at the Higher Institute of Engineering and Marine Sciences (ISECMAR).
He served as president of ISECMAR for two terms, leading academic and structural projects focused on training in engineering and technological innovation. He is currently a doctoral student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), with research focused on the adaptive regulation of electrical systems in island countries. Professionally, he served as Electrical Supervisor in the construction of the Vila Verde Resort on the island of Sal, and as Supervisor in the 6 Islands Project, funded by JICA, aimed at strengthening the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Cape Verde.
His research interests include energy transition, renewable energy integration, regulatory quality, and decarbonization of electrical systems and ports. He participates in the European ORION Project, which aims to decarbonize the Porto Grande de São Vicente, using tools such as Digital Twins and AI for energy planning and optimization. With a career that combines teaching, management, and applied engineering, he seeks to promote sustainability and energy resilience in island systems.
